THANK YOU for your interest in The Gardeners Worship and in our new song, “King of the Ages”, which is officially released and available on all streaming services! Links, story, and song credits below.
“King of the Ages” began as a song of worship for our local church in Johnson City, TN, but the truths it proclaims are for the whole world, forever!
As of this writing (August 2026), the members of The Gardeners Worship are also all members of Red Stone Church in Johnson City, TN. So last fall, to accompany an upcoming sermon series, our pastor challenged us to write a song based on 1 Timothy 1:17—an ancient hymn chorus hidden in plain sight: “To the King of the Ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.” As we dug in, we found ourselves humbled by the awesome power of our God (Psalm 65), and looking forward to eternity, where every nation and tongue will praise Him forever (Revelation 4-5).
“King of the Ages” is the result of that season of study, listening, and slow obedience in our daily lives. After vetting with the elders, we have been singing it with our local congregation since November, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Our goal now in releasing this track is to turn the attention of listeners and singers all over the world towards our God, the King of the Ages. We also want the song to be a discipleship tool, especially for churches, so alongside the music, we are providing a free chord chart and devotional to help worship leaders, small groups, and even families dive deeper into the scriptures that inspired these lyrics. It is our prayer that this song be a means of worship for you, as it has already been for us.
