New Scripture Song: "One in Peace" by The Gardeners Worship

THANK YOU for your interest in The Gardeners Worship and in our new song, “One in Peace”, which is officially released and available on all streaming services! Links, story, and song credits below.

This song has a story that is very precious to me. Three years ago, I was incapable of writing a song of praise to God, hindered by cynicism and frankly, my own pride and sin. But the Lord shapes us, slowly like water against the banks of a river. And last summer, this song came together in what felt like the blink of an eye.

In late May, I was preparing to lead praise and worship at a conference with the theme "ONE" - one as a church body, oneness with God in Christ, and so on. I exhausted my resources looking for appropriately themed songs, but still felt like I was coming up short of having *just* the right worship song to capture the fullness of ONE across all of scripture.

During the same two weeks leading up to the conference, guided by the conference theme, I had been meditating on Ephesians 2:13-14:

"But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility” (ESV)

And praise be to God, His word never returns void.

On the first morning of the conference, after we all sang praise together, I returned with my guitar to the sleepy quiet of my hotel room to fingerpick my way down for a nap. But instead, in less than an hour, “One in Peace” was finished. I sat in my room, alone with the Lord, amazed at what had just happened. This cynic, this sinner, had just become a vessel for something beautiful: a song of praise to God. In my excitement I printed a copy of the lyrics for every attendee, and we sang it as a group that night. And GOD WAS GLORIFIED.

After the conference, I began seeking the Lord's will for what to do with this new song, "One in Peace." Soon afterwards, the Gardeners came together, and besides recording this song, we began writing more scripture songs which we can't wait to share in due time.

Thank you again for your interest in our music. We hope you enjoy "One in Peace."
